SDI de Mexico Announces Strategic Partnership with UTM

November 24, 2014—Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Last week SDI, the leading provider of Enterprise MRO Supply Chain Management Solutions in North America, announced a strategic alliance with Universidad TecMilenio (UTM), part of the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM). The relationship will help generate innovative ideas and facilitate best practice sharing around indirect materials in supply chain management throughout Mexico.

A rapidly emerging powerhouse, Mexico is on track to become the fifth largest global economy, according to Goldman Sachs. With 40 campuses throughout Mexico and an online campus, Universidad TecMilenio, has a unique education model. Their curriculum is taught in part by the businesses, organizations and for-profit schools that these 38,000 students will one day lead, giving both the students and the organizations a finely honed competitive edge.

As a strategic partner, SDI de Mexico will speak at UTM hosted conferences across various regions in Mexico with themes of Leadership, Innovation and Business Solutions. In turn, SDI de Mexico will have access to numerous scholarships to be used for the professional development of the company’s most valued resource—their people.

Cris Ferregur, General Manager at SDI de Mexico explained, “A more connected approach to MRO, and the supply chain in general, provides the framework for improved overall operating effectiveness—which is a goal for any business, whether they have operations in Mexico or elsewhere. By working with Universidad TecMilenio, we are not only giving these students direct access to our subject matter experts, but we’re also enabling best practice sharing to ultimately connect in a way that will provide impactful and sustainable operational improvements.”

This strategic alliance is part of SDI’s ongoing commitment to reshape perspectives on Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) and redefine it—connecting the supply chain to enable efficient manufacturing and core business processes.

SDI was recently interviewed by MRO Guy’s Steve Landis for their weekly podcast. Executive VP of Operations, Chris Moore offered up keen insight from his first-hand experience that applies in any business organization. Click here to listen to the podcast. Additionally, SDI is a sponsor of the 2014 Institute of Supply Management (ISM) Indirect Procurement Conference December 3-4th in Phoenix, Arizona.
