How long has SDI been in business?

SDI was organized in 1968 and has been focused on providing MRO supply chain management services for more than 30 years. SDI acquired its wholly owned subsidiary, SDI, Inc. (previously known as Industrial Systems Associates Inc. [ISA]), in 1994. Its Mexico subsidiary, Strategic Distribution de Mexico, was established in 1995 and its Canadian subsidiary, Strategic Distribution Canada, in 1999.

What is the relationship between SDI and ISA?

Industrial Systems Associates (ISA) was founded in 1971 and was the original operating company of the In-Plant Store® program. In 1994 it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Strategic Distribution, Inc. (SDI).  In February 2004, ISA formally changed its name to SDI, Inc. and remains a wholly owned subsidiary company of Strategic Distribution. The name change for our U.S. operating company was made to more appropriately reflect our strategic direction and service offerings, as well as strengthen the connection between the parent and subsidiary companies.
